What You Need to Know

Coral Gables Senior High has many strengths such as its academic program. We offer a variety of different level classes and have a very diverse curriculum. There are many different academic concentration programs including Business Management and IT, Design Education Hospitality, Health Public Service and Law, Visual and Preforming Arts, Communication Arts Film and Digital Media, International Baccalaureate, Academy of Finance, and theCavalier Teaching Academy. 

We also have stellar athletic teams, theatre troops and tons of different extra curricular activities. We have been rated a B school and 94% of our graduating senior classes move on to attend a 2/4 year college or university. We have had students

  • Zach Banks - racing driver.

  • Jimmy Arguello - professional dancer,  So You Think You Can Dance

  • Allan Bakke - applied to the University of California Medical School at Davis but was rejected two times on the basis of a racial quota system; this led to the U.S. Supreme Court's Regents of the University of California v. Bakke decision

  • Steve Cohen - member of Congress from Memphis, Tennessee in Miami, Florida.

  • Gail Edwards - actress on It's a Living, Blossom, Full House

  • Robert H. Frank (class of 1962) - professor of economics at Cornell University and business columnist for The New York Times 

  • Lillian Glass - author, media personality

  • Gil Green - music video and film director

  • Paul Jennings Hill - first person to be executed for killing an abortion provider

  • Silvio Horta - television producer, Ugly Betty, Jake 2.0

  • Maxx Klaxon (Class of 1989) - electropop musician and performance artist

  • Katherine Kurtz - fantasy writer

  • William B. Lenoir - astronaut on early Columbia space shuttle mission
